Married life can be comparable to an extended road trip…spending long hours together deciding where to go, how to get there, what to eat and who’s driving. There’s bad weather, dull conversations, and traffic to make the trip difficult sometimes (not to mention occasionally getting lost), however, find the right traveling companion and follow a few key rules of road etiquette, and your bound to have a great time…and collect a lot of great road trip memories.
This post continues a multipart series of tips for marital bliss. I hope you appreciate my suggestions, and that they contribute to a smoother ride for you and your beloved companion. Read the rest of this entry »

The world is changing so quickly…it’s almost unthinkable to attempt to consider the future. A huge number of children will solve problems and work in jobs that do not even exist today… This begs the question, how should we seek to prepare leaders of the future church???
Watch this video, then have a look at my suggestions below.

My suggestions:
1. Teach them to accurately interpret the Word of God, and create a foundational center of information where the people of the world can go to find a trustworthy source of those interpretations. Because the word of God does not change, and if we can give people the universal principles of the Word of God, they can apply it effectively.
2. Make the major task of the church to train up leaders of character and effectiveness for future generations. If our main task as a church is leadership development, then one thing is for certain: We will multiply our influence, rather than see it diminish. We cannot simply judge our progress on our own performance. The acid test of our lives should be that we ensured that more people would carry our work on after we’ve passed away.

This week I have been rediscovering the wonder of RSS feeds. I live my life in Firefox, and love it’s many features…but have been struggling to find an easy way to use it to keep up with the many blogs I have been following lately. Fortunately, I stumbled upon an extension for Firefox named “Brief”, and it has opened my eyes to the world of blogging in a whole new way.

No more surfing blogs, loading advertisements and themes to look for new posts. Now I simply glance at the browser toolbar as I am surfing the web to see how many blog updates I have to catch up on.
I hope you find it as helpful a tool as I have. Look and install it here, at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4578
Also, here’s a short list of extensions I currently utilized in Firefox, in case you need another good tool:
1. Foxmarks – syncronized your bookmarks between computers
2. IE tab – no more needing to open Internet Explorer because some silly page is not compatible with IE. Now you can change to IE inside of Firefox. Genius!!!
3. Screengrab – take a picture of a webpage.
4. FireFTP – an FTP client that runs within Firefox as another tab…another way to eliminate having to install and run a separate program.
5. Download Statusbar – One more way to eliminate another popup window. Watch your downloads progress in the Statusbar of Firefox.

I recently completed a study of Joseph’s life for my class on Genesis, and I’m absolutely astounded at the insight it has provided me. The portrayal of the characters of the book of Genesis are incredible…especially for someone who wrote this story over four thousand years ago.
In light of the way this study has changed my perspective on the first book of the Bible, I want to provide both my paper, and the cliff notes for any interested parties. Below you will find the general notes that relate to a study of Joseph’s actions toward his brothers in Egypt as recorded in Genesis 42-44.
Download my paper here: https://blog.pathfinders.training/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/joseph_and_his_brothers.docx
